United By Blue unveils bison-fiber insulated jacket

Philadelphia-based clothing and accessories provider United By Blue has introduced the Ultimate American Jacket™, a waterproof insulated winter jacket sourced and built entirely in the United States and made with bison fiber insulation.

The jacket is a four-layer, waterproof winter jacket that incorporates United By Blue’s proprietary B100 Fill™ bison fiber insulation. Independent laboratory testing has shown B100 Fill to be on par with heavy polar equipment, with a clo rating—the measure of the ability of insulation to provide warmth—of 4.51.

The jacket, available in three colors, also features a recycled waterproof polyester shell, taped seams, watertight zippers, removable hood and a removable 100 percent wool-fleece vest. It is equipped with 10 exterior and four interior pockets, including wool-fleece lined hand pockets.

As with all United By Blue products, with the purchase of each jacket, the company pledges to remove one pound of trash from an ocean or river. The Ultimate American Jacket is available exclusively on Kickstarter Oct. 13–Nov. 22 in both men’s and women’s styles.
