Industrial Fabrics Association International’s (IFAI) Expo 2018 show has been announced as a finalist for Trade Show Executive Magazine’s Gold 100 Grand Award for the Do-Gooder award category for work with the Manufacturing for Good booth.
The Do-Gooder category is specifically for shows that promote events for philanthropy or social causes. IFAI Expo 2018 made giving back a priority by putting together the Manufacturing for Good booth. The booth successfully brought together Expo exhibitors, attendees and sponsors to produce duffel bags for a local organization at a live demo booth on the show floor.
With the 2018 IFAI Expo taking place in Dallas, Texas, it was important to help make a difference in a local Texas community. The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center in North Texas, a shelter that helps provide access to services essential to facilitating one’s comeback from homelessness, soon became the focus. Hearing the personal stories of those involved at the shelter made the decision even easier to work toward providing them with the needed duffel bags. A total of 74 red vinyl duffel bags were made.
The award winners will be announced at Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 Awards and Summit taking place September 25–27, 2019, in San Diego, Calif.
