EcoNote | October 23, 2013 | By:

NPS Nonwovens, a division of NPS Corp., Green Bay, Wis., is introducing new, state-of-the-art absorbent products branded as Sustayn™ by Spilfyter®. These products are produced from 100 percent recycled polypropylene, and all of the packaging components are made from 100 percent recycled materials, as well.

“At the very beginning of the development process, we envisioned a line of spill control products that would put us in a position to be stewards for the environment, while also ensuring it met the demanding end user needs in the marketplace. I’m happy to say that our new Sustayn Products exceed our expectations on both fronts,” said Andrew Hetzel Jr., president and CEO of NPS Corp. “This truly is a technological breakthrough and we’re excited to introduce it to our customers world-wide.”

Meltblown spill control products, usually referred to as “sorbents,” are sophisticated fabrics used to soak up a wide variety of spills, including oil-based, water-based and aggressive chemical-based spills in industrial, marine, laboratory and a variety of other market segments. Sustayn pads rolls are perforated, making it easier to use only what is needed, which avoids waste, and the pads perform as good or better than sorbent products produced from virgin raw materials.
