AXSON will open center for PUR formulations

AXSON, high-performance polymer formulation producer, will open the Axson Merylithe Technical Centre for developing innovative PUR formulations. Located in Méry (Savoie, France) will enable AXSON customers to carry out tests and trials beginning in early 2015. The announcement follows AXSON’s acquisition of Merylithe, a move that has strengthened the company’s expertise in polyurethane elastomer formulations.

The new, state-of-the-art center will focus its expertise on both isocyanate formulation and systems. “We will be an incubator for innovative PUR solutions. We are offering a customized approach,” said Jérôme Duclos, Director of AXSON Merylithe.

“AXSON Merylithe will enable our AXSON Technologies Business Unit to develop certain niche markets and continue to provide high-performance applications in the elastomer market,” said Charles Churet, president of AXSON Group.

The company is also working on more environmentally-friendly PUR ranges and is currently researching alternatives to petrol and carbon products.
