EcoNote | June 19, 2017 | By:

Kingbird recently introduced yarns and threads that meet the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX. This is part of the company’s commitment to adhere to all global quality standards, including the Agreement on Textiles and Clothing, the Business Social Compliance Initiative and SGS quality tests.
The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX testing criteria involve assessing the quality of knitted fabrics, woven fabrics, dyed yarns, finished yarns, labels, sewing threads and the like. The criteria outline fundamental quality testing procedures for raw materials and semi-finished to finished textile products. The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX also ensures that yarns and threads conform to the European Chemicals Regulation annexes XVII and XIV.

The company cites its commitment to adhering to strict manufacturing standards. Through its R&D and laboratory, the company evaluates raw materials and finished yarns and fabrics for banned substances such as nickel, cadmium and formaldehyde, among other substances.
Based in Zhejiang, China, Kingbird manufactures embroidery and sewing thread, pre-wound bobbin yarn, nylon sewing and bonded nylon thread and a range of yarns, which include metallic, functional, craft and high-tenacity polyester yarns.
