Swedish-based Trelleborg’s industrial anti-vibration solutions operation will supply rail suspension solutions for the United Kingdom’s Crossrail project and its new fleet of trains. The contract was secured by rail manufacturer Bombardier Transportation.
Using a polymer technology, Trelleborg’s industrial anti-vibration solutions operation specializes in rubber-to-metal bonding for the suppression of noise and vibration. Solutions include mountings, bearings and suspension.
Trelleborg will provide primary and secondary suspension solutions for Bombardier’s new fleet of Class 345 trains. The suspension components will be specified with Trelleborg’s fire-retardant protective coating, DragonCoat. The special coating reduces the flammability of the products and delays smoke, toxic emissions and the onset of flames.
