Engineered-textiles and composite-reinforcement developer Chomarat is expanding its coatings and films business, investing in a new varnishing and finishing line for automotive coated materials.

The technology focuses on the elimination of volatile organic compounds in different chemical formulations in reaction to expected changes in REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations. The company will offer customers solutions to eliminate the use of solvent-phase varnishes in the finishing of coated materials.

The company is reinforcing its interior automotive trim for dashboard, door panel and floor applications, while also accelerating the development of thermoplastic polyolefin solutions.

Based in Le Cheylard, France, Chomarat specializes in composites reinforcements, construction reinforcement, coatings and films for textiles, and serves the automotive, aerospace, sports, energy, marine, construction and luxury goods markets.
