APV Engineered Coatings has announced it will showcase VYNGUARD® performance finishes, featuring the addition of a new antimicrobial technology, at the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) Expo, October 16–18, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.
The company reports that the new VYNGUARD AM antimicrobial chemistry may be incorporated into lacquer or top finish technologies. VYNGUARD Polycarbonate Anti-Microbial Topcoat is formulated to resist film deterioration caused by gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria on coated flexible vinyl, such as PVC and TPO, surfaces, the company says.
The product’s design is intended to extend the service life of vinyl products by protecting the fabric or substrate under harsh stain-prone environments and from developing mildew, mold and bacteria, which can cause deterioration of the paint film. The surface also has good haptics and can be used in wall coverings, mass transit seating, marine upholstery and flexible decking.
