Abercrombie Textiles acquired by Crypton

The Crypton Companies (Crypton LLC and Nanotex LLC), providers of performance textile technologies in the contract, home furnishings and apparel markets, announces that it has entered into a formal agreement to acquire the operations of Abercrombie Textiles, the Cliffside, North Carolina-based textile mill. 

Abercrombie has been a Crypton-licensed mill partner for 17 years and both companies share a customer base and a deep commitment to U.S. manufacturing and the preservation and advancement of the American textile industry, a release from Crypton said. 

Under Crypton, Abercrombie Textiles will continue to manufacture dobby and jacquard fabrics for a variety of applications, including upholstery, bedding, wall coverings, cubicles and drapery for commercial, residential and transportation end markets.The company expects to unveil a new residential collection at the November 2019 Showtime Market that will include a mix of solids, textures and jacquards.

Crypton is headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and has a research, development and manufacturing facility in Kings Mountain, N.C. For more than 30 years, the weavers at Abercrombie have been supplying businesses in the residential, hospitality, outdoor, contract, health care and transportation industries with American-made fabrics.
