Courtland unveils new manufacturing facility

Cortland Biomedical has unveiled a new, purpose-built manufacturing facility designed by textile engineers. The company reports that the new facility has certified clean room manufacturing areas with ISO Class 8 clean rooms for fabric formation and ISO Class 7 clean rooms for assembly, scouring and post-processing. 

The new facility supports services to customers in need of braiding, knitting and weaving, as well as custom fabrication of medical textile products. The company’s capabilities are reported to include developing textile solutions that contain polymeric or metallic biomaterials for use in implant or surgical applications. Cortland Biomedical also creates devices leveraging fabrics and specialty materials or synthetic structures and tissue hybrids used in load-bearing applications.
