Beaulieu Fibres International at INDEX 20

In the Industry | March 16, 2020 | By:

Beaulieu Fibres International will announce at INDEX 20 the completion of its pilot line in Terni, Italy, the start-up of the multifunctional production line in Terni, and the new BICO line in Belgium, according to a news release from the company.

The company expects the pilot line to offer customers opportunities to collaborate early with stakeholders across the value chain, to explore concepts and end-product benefits and reduce time to market for new products.

Beaulieu Fibres International also reported it will unveil Meraspring and Meralux at INDEX 20. The Meraspring BICO-fibers are made with polyethylene in the sheath and polyethylene terephthalate in the core. The fibers are available with hydrophilic, hydrophobic and wellbeing finishes for applications such as diapers and feminine hygiene pads. Meralux fibers have a trilobal shape, which is reported to increase their resilience and liquid performance, compared to round, full-dull fibers, the company says.

The company will also showcase filtration fibres designed to meet global food contact standards and UltraBond, which the company reports is a pleatable filtration media that can be made fully recyclable.

Beaulieu Fibres International is a European polyolefin and BICO fibre supplier.
