The AMANN Group Advisory Board has announced a structural realignment of the management team and appointed Markus Nicolaus as the company’s new CEO and Christine Bauer as the new chief commercial officer (CCO).

The AMANN Group’s Executive Board has been reorganized and now consists of four members:

  • Markus Nicolaus, CEO, chairman of the Management Board, new position
  • Christine Bauer, CCO, new position, joins the Executive Board
  • Ivo Herzog, chief sustainability & innovation officer, member of the Management Board since 2022
  • Peter Morgalla, chief operating officer, member of the Management Board since 2013

As part of this realignment, Wolfgang Findeis, former chief financial officer at AMANN, and Arved Westerkamp, former chief sustainability officer, have left the company.

“In Markus Nicolaus, we welcome a CEO who brings international experience, strategic vision and a keen sense for transformation. The AMANN Group is a globally active company with German roots and has invested over €100 million [$117 million] in the establishment and expansion of production sites in Asia in recent years. We are recognised worldwide as a reliable partner and innovative leader in the high-tech textile industry – for example, our products and solutions contribute to quality and safety in more than half of all airbags produced worldwide. We are convinced that Markus Nicolaus will provide the right impetus to keep AMANN on track for continued success internationally,” says Alwin Epple, chairman of AMANN Group’s Advisory Board.

Markus Nicolaus on his new role:

“As a hidden champion, the AMANN Group combines innovative strength with a long-standing tradition in an industry that is constantly evolving. From my many years of experience with international innovation leaders, I know how important reliability, quality and global orientation are. My time spent in Asia has shown me how crucial cultural proximity and regional market knowledge are for sustainable success. I look forward to working with our dedicated and highly qualified team to drive forward the strategic realignment worldwide—with the aim of further strengthening customer satisfaction, profitable growth and future viability,” says Nicolaus.

“I am particularly pleased to welcome Christine Bauer as Chief Commercial Officer, the first woman to join the AMANN Group’s Executive Board. Her appointment is an important and forward-looking signal for our company.” adds Epple.

Christine Bauer joined the company in 2017 and previously managed the Consumer Division.

“I am delighted to have been entrusted with this new role and responsibility as Chief Commercial Officer of the AMANN Group. After many successful years managing our Consumer Division Mettler, I am particularly keen to further develop the Group’s overall sales and marketing strategy, always with a focus on customer proximity, market orientation and sustainable growth,” says Bauer.
