New PFC-free outdoor apparel with DSM technology

What's New? | August 15, 2014 | By:

Life sciences and materials sciences company Royal DSM announces the introduction by Toyota Tsusho of a new generation of high-performance membranes for clothing made from its Arnitel VT, a thermoplastic polyester-based elastomer. The new membranes contain no perfluorinated chemicals and are 100 percent recyclable, waterproof and highly breathable.

Toyota Tsusho will launch the new membranes—the latest addition to its Gelanots product range—at the Outdoor Retailer Show, which takes place Aug. 6-9 in Salt Lake City.

With Arnitel VT, moisture vapor can pass from the inside to the outside of the garment to keep the wearer dry. Arnitel VT does not rely on perforations to make it breathable, so it can also act as a barrier to liquids, bacteria and viruses, and can be used in surgical gowns.
