Designed by Kazuya Koike of Doogdesign and produced by World Party Inc., the wet-free Unnurella umbrella is made of a high-density fabric that features the highest attainable level of water-repellency as set by Japanese industrial standards. Developed in collaboration with Komatsu Seiren, the light and smooth material also repels 99 percent of ultraviolet rays without any additional UV protective coating. Over time, this fabric will weaken with exposure to rain, dust, cosmetics and oil from the user’s hands. However, a way to maintain it is to regularly rinse the surface and apply heat with an iron or hair dryer.
