Microban receives bluesign approval for Scentry BC100

Microban^® International Ltd., Huntersville, N.C.-based producer of textile odor-control and odor-prevention products, has received bluesign^® system blue product rating for its Scentry^® BC100 textile odor-capture treatment.

Microban identifies Scentry BC100 as a non-antimicrobial solution that absorbs body odors, caused by organic chemical compounds, in clothing and footwear made from polyester, spandex, nylon and synthetic blends. Applied to the fabric during the manufacturing process, it forms a protective barrier that traps body odors, regenerating itself by releasing the trapped odors during launderings.

The company says that the solution captures more than 90 percent of odors, even after more than 50 typical home launderings, extending the life of the product.
