Gerber partners with Avametric for consumer 3D platform

Industry News | November 16, 2017 | By:

Gerber Technology and Avametric are combining their expertise in fashion technology and fabric simulation and 3D consumer applications to offer an end-to-end 3D platform—from consumer-facing virtual try-on applications to design, development and manufacturing.

The partnership aims to offset the billions of dollars the fashion industry spends annually on creating physical samples. The first commercially available application will be with the release of the AccuMark V11.

Users will be able to move from 2D patterns to 3D digital samples that are production ready, which can result in a savings of up to 50 percent in time and cost, and reduce the negative impact on the environment, the company says.

Gerber Technology delivers software and automation solutions that help apparel and industrial customers improve their manufacturing and design processes and more effectively manage and connect the supply chain.

Avametric, based in San Francisco, creates advanced 3D software for the global apparel industry.
