Royole Corp. has introduced high-definition Flexible+ Wearables products featuring flexible display and sensor technologies, a company release says. Company founder and CEO Dr. Bill Liu unveiled the Royole Flexible Shirt and Flexible Top Hat at the recent World Cup final in Moscow.

The company embedded its thin, flexible displays into a traditional cotton shirt and top hat so companies or individuals could visually express their “passions, politics, creativity, social awareness and more,” Liu said.

Royole Flexible+ Wearables are powered by a portable external lithium battery. They are designed to support 3GP/MP4 videos and JPEG/GIF images. The large, flexible AMOLED displays can be removed from and reinserted into both the shirt and hat, allowing for cleaning.

“Individuals can select video content that showcases their personality and stream in real time from their mobile phone. . .,” Liu said. The company expects businesses will find the technology can be used as a “mobile advertising billboard.”

Founded by Stanford engineering graduates in 2012, Royole creates and manufactures human-machine interface technologies and products.
