INVISTA, an integrated producer of polymers and fibers, announces the start-up of a new production line in Shanghai, China, designed to produce T837 LYCRA HyFit™ fiber that will serve the growing global demand for hygiene products. In addition, INVISTA is planning two projects at its Paulina, Brazil, facility to add capacity and introduce regional production of T837 LYCRA HyFit™ fiber by October 2013. The fiber is a unique formulation that takes a proven polymer to a new level of performance, simultaneously reducing fiber-to-fiber tack without negatively impacting creep performance. By the end of 2013, INVISTA will have local production of T837 in four global regions.
