German based sports equipment and clothing brand Völkl has incorporated the fluorine-free DWR technology BARRIER ECO by the Swiss textile technology company HeiQ in its next performance wear collection. BARRIER ECO provides the collection with environmentally-friendly water-repellent features.
Inspired by ducks’ natural ability to stay warm and dry in the wettest and harshest of conditions HeiQ the product as a unique water repellant treatment for textiles. Its innovative 3D structure imitates a duck’s feathery coat to repel water and snow effectively without any harmful fluorocarbons. The performance garments also offer strong abrasion resistance and soft hand. It will be available for outdoor enthusiasts worldwide in Fall 2015.
