Entrepreneurs sought for advanced textiles program

Industry News | December 20, 2017 | By:

Advanced Functional Fabrics of America (AFFOA) has partnered with MIT Venture Mentoring Service to launch a year-long pre-commercial, part-time program for entrepreneurs with a passion for commercializing important innovations in the advanced fabrics space domestically. The project is now seeking applicants for its Advanced Fabric Entrepreneurship Program (AFEP).

People who have an idea for an advanced fabric project or service that is the basis of a new company are encouraged to apply. The program will support entrepreneurs by providing access to resources focused on launching a company, which can include mentors, technical knowledge, prototypes, customer insights and team-building expertise.

The online application requires several components including a short video, slide presentation, résumé and letters of reference. Application deadline is January 8, 2018, 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. Visit https://affoa.submittable.com/submit.

AFFOA is a nonprofit institute with the mission of enabling a manufacturing-based revolution—the transformation of traditional fibers, yarns and textiles into highly sophisticated integrated and networked devices and systems.
